New Zealand vs Australia Highlights Cricket World Cup 2015

Posted by sahill786 at 2:22 PM 0 Comments
Today Trent Boult got 5 wickets while Vettori and Southee took 2 wickets each. Anderson bowled only two balls and ended the Australian suffering with the final blow. Today when Australia won the toss and decided to bat first, no one could thought of what was going to happen to them. The kind of performance they have been showing recently, it was expected that 300 plus score is an easy go. However as things turned out differently, let’s see how New Zealand performs during the chase.

New Zealand 152 for 9 (McCullum 50, Williamson 45*, Starc 6-28) beat Australia 151 (Haddin 43, Boult 5-27, Southee 2-65, Vettori 2-41) by one wicket.

New Zealand beats Australia in a photo finish

AUCKLAND: New Zealand on Saturday defeated Australia by one wicket after a thriller at Eden Park, Auckland, ARY News reported.

Chasing small target of 152, New Zealand started off well, at one stage they were 2 down for 78 with Skipper Brendon McCullum hitting 50 and were cruising in their chase but the Kiwis slipped to 146-9.
Mitchell Starc bowled amazingly well to pull Australia back taking six for 28.
Middle order batsmen Kane Williamson brought New Zealand home by hitting a six straight down the ground off Pat Cummins.
Earlier, New Zealand had bowled out Australia for a paltry 151 in 32.2 overs with Trent Boult finishing with a career-best five for 27.
Australia collapsed from 80 for one in the 13th over to lose their last nine wickets for 71 after they won the toss and batted.
Wicket-Keeper batsman Brad Haddin was top-scorer for Australia with 43.

AB De Villiers 162 Runs Videos Highlights Vs West indies

Posted by needo is best 2024 at 8:42 PM 0 Comments

AB de Villiers’ fastest 150 in ODIs while 408 is the highest team total on Australian soil. It was an amazing performance today. Jason Holder had figures of 5-2-9-1 at one stage. He ended up on 10-2-104-1 95 runs in 5 overs because of his fifth over that cost his team 34 runs. This is the second worst over for any bowler in World Cup history. Rossouw scored 61 off 39 balls and at one moment it looked both these players are set to make new records. But Rossouw lost his wicket early while AB de Villiers went on with his massacre. As a whole South Africa scored 261 runs in the last 20 overs which is another world cup record.

South Africa vs West Indies World Cup Highlights, Today 2015

Posted by needo is best 2024 at 8:32 PM 0 Comments
Watch South Africa vs West Indies Highlights played on 27 Feb 2015 Today. Cricket World Cup Match 19 between SA vs WI cricket highlights World Cup 2015. The 19th match of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2015 will see South Africa taking on the West Indies at the Sydney Cricket Ground on Thursday.

Despite leading the head to head with 42 wins from 57 matches, South Africa will be well-aware that they’ve lost 2 of the 5 world cup meetings against the West Indies. Recent form will show that South Africa haven’t been troubled of late by the West Indies, but the pressure of a world cup makes all current form null and void.

Indications are that South Africa will include Farhaan Behardien and Kyle Abbott in the starting XI in the pace of the injured Vernon Philaner and out of form Wayne Parnell. Rilee Rossouw might also see him into the playing XI, if JP Duminy does not recover from a slight niggle. Including Rossouw might be a good idea, given his recent form against the West Indies back in South Africa. The pitch is expected to be slow and low, which will not favor South Africa, and might even opt them to surprise with the inclusion of a second spinner.

Teams/Squad:

South Africa: AB de Villiers*, HM Amla, KJ Abbott, F Behardien, Q de Kock†, JP Duminy, F du Plessis, Imran Tahir, DA Miller, M Morkel, WD Parnell, AM Phangiso, VD Philander, RR Rossouw, DW Steyn

West Indies: JO Holder*, MN Samuels, SJ Benn, DM Bravo, JL Carter, SS Cottrell, CH Gayle, NO Miller, D Ramdin†, KAJ Roach, AD Russell, DJG Sammy, LMP Simmons, DR Smith, JE Taylor.

Bangladesh vs Sri Lanka World Cup Highlights, 26-02-2015

Posted by needo is best 2024 at 8:24 PM 0 Comments
Watch Bangladesh vs Sri Lanka Highlights played on 26 Feb 2015 Today. Cricket World Cup Match 18 between Ban vs SL cricket highlights World Cup 2015 at Melbourne. Bangladesh will take on Sri Lanka in a Pool A clash on Thursday at the MCG hosts the 18th match of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2015.
Sri Lanka lead the head to head between the teams, with 32 wins from 37 previous meetings in ODI cricket. The teams have met twice before in World Cup cricket, with both wins going to Sri Lanka.

Kumar Sangakkara is the leading run scorer for Sri Lanka against Bangladesh, scoring 1101 runs in 30 matches at an average of 44.04. He has yet to peak in this year’s tournament, and will be keen to spend some time out in the middle. Together with Jayawardene they are always the rock of the Sri Lankan batting. Jayawardene showed that he is back to his best, with a match winning century for Sri Lanka last time out. A win will go a long way to securing Sri Lanka a quarter-final spot, whereas a loss will put them under huge pressure when taking on the likes of Australia and England later in the tournament. It has been confirmed that Jeevan Mendis will take no further part on the tournament, which could see the young fast bowler Dushmantha Chameera making his world cup debut for Sri Lanka.
Teams/Squad:
Bangladesh: Mashrafe Mortaza*, Al-Amin Hossain, Anamul Haque, Arafat Sunny, Mahmudullah, Mominul Haque,Mushfiqur Rahim†, Nasir Hossain, Rubel Hossain, Sabbir Rahman, Shakib Al Hasan, Soumya Sarkar, Taijul Islam, Tamim Iqbal, Taskin Ahmed

" Trench fight: Pakistan, West Indies seek first points  "

Team news
Guessing at Pakistan's XI and correct batting order is as hard as solving a Wheel of Fortune puzzle with no letters showing. Younis is suddenly an opener, but will he stay there? Will they stick with Umar Akmal as wicketkeeper or get Sarfraz Ahmed back in? Will they persist with a spin-heavy attack after it failed against India? "You can't say after one game," Misbah said. "We are not panicking. We're just looking into all these matters very closely."

Pakistan (possible) 1 Ahmed Shehzad, 2 Younis Khan, 3 Haris Sohail, 4 Misbah-ul-Haq (capt), 5 Sohaib Maqsood, 6 Umar Akmal (wk), 7 Shahid Afridi, 8 Wahab Riaz, 9 Yasir Shah, 10 Sohail Khan, 11 Mohammad Irfan.
West Indies were without spinner Sulieman Benn in the first game after he succumbed to back soreness, and allrounder Darren Sammy has also been battling a stiff back since the loss to Ireland. However, the captain Jason Holder indicated both men would likely be available. "We've gotten Benn to a stage where we think he's going to be a lot better off than in the first game against Ireland," Holder said. "Tomorrow we should have a full complement to choose from."
West Indies (possible) 1 Dwayne Smith, 2 Chris Gayle, 3 Darren Bravo, 4 Marlon Samuels, 5 Denesh Ramdin (wk), 6 Lendl Simmons, 7 Darren Sammy, 8 Jason Holder (capt), 9 Kemar Roach, 10 Jerome Taylor, 11 Sulieman Benn.
Pitch and conditions
Hagley Oval proved good for batting in the first innings of the tournament opener last Saturday, when New Zealand made 331 against Sri Lanka. The forecast for Christchurch this Saturday is for a fine day and a top of 25C.
Stats and trivia
Shahid Afridi is 30 runs away from 8000 in ODIs. He would be the 27th man to pass that milestone, and comfortably the slowest in terms of innings taken

Kemar Roach is two wickets away from 100 in ODIs
Since the previous World Cup, these teams have met in 11 ODIs for six Pakistan wins, four West Indies victories, and one tie.
Quotes
"If we want to do well in this World Cup this is an important game, and both teams need to win."
Misbah-ul-Haq, the Pakistan captain
"We can't let our defeats get us down. We lost the game against Ireland and it was a pretty tough loss, but if we get ourselves down it's hard to pick ourselves back up."
Jason Holder , the West Indies captain

How Sauthee got his super seven "

The story of Tim Southee's seven wickets at the Basin Reserve, which blew England away for 123 in a brilliant exhibition of swing bowling, courtesy ESPNcricinfo's unrivalled ball-by-ball service.
4.1 Southee to Bell, OUT, oh what a beaut. Beats the outside edge to hit the top of off stump. That is a peach. Angling in but swinging away. Lands around off. Bell has been in this mode where he is trying to stay beside the line to open up the off side. So he is not quite behind the line of this, and the ball swings to beat his bat. Off stump, bye-bye.
IR Bell b Southee 8 (17b 1x4 0x6) SR: 47.05

6.2 Southee to Ali, OUT, that's the one-two. Bowl a bouncer to those who don't like bouncers. Have them expecting another one and thus staying back. Slip in a full one. Take the edge or hit the the stumps. Southee has hit the off stump here. This has swung back in towards the base of the off stump and squeezes under it. Apart from staying back he has played woefully down the wrong line.
MM Ali b Southee 20 (15b 4x4 0x6) SR: 133.33

26.2 Southee to Taylor, OUT, what captaincy, what bowling. McCullum calls his strike bowler. Look, get me a wicket. Southee bowls one wide outswinger. That draws an appeal. And now he bowls an outswinging yorker that beats the outside edge of the new batsman and pings back the off stump. What a joy to watch the aggressive approach and the execution thereof by New Zealand.
JWA Taylor b Southee 0 (2b 0x4 0x6) SR: 0.00

28.1 Southee to Buttler, OUT, lovely outswing bowling. Southee has a four-for. This is on a length, not too wide, you can't keep leaving them alone all day long in ODIs. Buttler pushes at it, Southee gets enough movement away to take the edge and England are six down.
JC Buttler c †Ronchi b Southee 3 (7b 0x4 0x6) SR: 42.85

28.4 Southee to Woakes, OUT, Southee. Unplayable Southee. Has a Michelle now. Four of them have been bowled to outswingers that have hit the off stump. That's beautiful. Outswingers hitting the top of off. Too good for a No. 8. Woakes' only mistake here is, he is not forward. Southee loves it. Gives him the space to let this outswinger drop and then move past the outside edge to hit the top of off. Nothing wrong in the pitch here. Just high-quality swing bowling and aggressive captaincy.
CR Woakes b Southee 1 (2b 0x4 0x6) SR: 50.00

30.4 Southee to Broad, OUT, Southee has six. Broad needs talking to. Ordinary attitude to batting. Running away and hoping for the best. He has moved away from leg, and just put his bat there. The leading edge to the full ball carried to mid-off where Vettori takes a two-hander to his left.Disappointing to see Broad - a fighter the last I checked - running away from the ball like a tailender.
SCJ Broad c Vettori b Southee 4 (10b 0x4 0x6) SR: 40.00

32.3 Southee to Finn, OUT, Seven for Southee. This is lovely stuff. Just floats in an outswinger outside off, Finn follows it, edges it to Taylor at first slip. Best figures for a NZer in a WC match. Root is left stranded, but he really should have protected Finn and not taken the single first ball.
ST Finn c Taylor b Southee 0 (8b 0x4 0x6) SR: 0.00

New Zealand v England, World Cup 2015, Group A, Wellington

New Zealand rout England by eight wickets

" New Zealand 125 for 2 (McCullum 77) beat England  123 (Root 46, Southee 7-33)
by eight wickets "
WELLINGTON: Paceman Tim Southee recorded the best one-day figures by a New Zealander while Brendon McCullum hit the fastest World Cup half-century to lead their team’s one-sided eight-wicket win over a hapless England on Friday.
Southee took seven for 33 in his nine overs as England collapsed to 123 all out in just 33.2 overs.
New Zealand captain McCullum’s rollicking 25-ball 77 with seven sixes and eight fours at the top of the order then saw the tournament co-hosts romp to victory in just 12.2 overs of their reply in Wellington.
When the umpires called for a dinner break with New Zealand needing just 12 more runs to win, jeers rang out around the packed 33,000 capacity Westpac Stadium.
But although the amount of cricket played was under half the scheduled 100 overs of a one-day international, the crowd certainly got their money’s worth.
Victory gave New Zealand, one of the tournament favourites, their third win in as many Pool Agames while England were left with two defeats in two following a 111-run thrashing by Australia.
Sensing an easy win, McCullum launched a ferocious attack on the England bowling, hitting Stuart Broad for a six off the first ball he faced.
Fast bowler Steven Finn was not spared as McCullum hit six, four, four and six off the Middlesex paceman’s first four balls and then another six to bring up his fifty off just 18 balls.
McCullum held the previous record for the fastest World Cup fifty, off 20 balls against Canada at St Lucia in 2007.
Finn’s two wicketless overs cost a whopping 49 runs
Chis Woakes ended McCullum’s knock by bowling him off a bottom edge.
South Africa’s AB de Villiers holds the record for the fastest-ever one-day international fifty, off just 16 balls, made against the West Indies last month.
Earlier it was Southee who left England clueless after Eoin Morgan won the toss and batted on a flat looking pitch.
Southee achieved the third-best figures in all World Cups and beat the previous best by a New Zealander in all ODIs, recorded by Shane Bond, now the team’s bowling coach, who took six for 19 against India at Bulawayo in 2005.
Only Joe Root, last man out in the 34th over, offered resistance with 46 while opener Moeen Ali made 20 and Morgan managed 17 in an otherwise disappointing batting display.
“It’s a bit of a blur at the moment,” said Southee during the change of innings. “We’re good swing bowlers and, although we lost the toss, the ball swung throughout the innings.
“They say that when there’s a bit of blue sky in Wellington, the ball swings.”
England were looking at a revival at 103 for three with Morgan and Root at the crease.
But former Ireland left-hander Morgan, who had managed just two runs with four ducks in his previous five innings, holed out at long-on off Vettori.
He was left to rue his shot as England lost their last seven wickets for just 19 runs.
Openers Ian Bell (eight) and Moeen Ali (20) were both bowled by Southee, who subsequently dismissed James Taylor (nought), Jos Buttler (three), Chris Woakes (one), Stuart Broad (four) and Steven Finn (nought).
He took his final five wickets in the space of just 18 balls to record the third best figures in all World Cups behind the Australian duo of Glenn McGrath (7-15) and Andy Bichel (7-20). (AFP)
A shell-shocked England emerged into the field with nothing left to give. James Anderson's first ball was a wide and things did not improve. McCullum upper cut his first delivery from Broad over third man - New Zealand did not need to make further statements, but the captain was not of that frame of mind.
The fifty was brought up with the first of the four sixes in a row off Finn, which also struck a sponsor's car, and McCullum kept launching him with fearsome power over the off side. Staggeringly, thoughts briefly turned to whether he could manufacture enough of the strike to challenge the fastest hundred - AB de Villiers' 31-ball against West Indies - but that would have been one record too many on an extraordinary day.
